Thursday 27 August 2026 β the first ninety minutes.
CRWD gapped up on earnings and kept going: +7.3% by 11:00 on a 9.5% range. MU
went the other way and lost 4.8% off the open. Both were obvious from the first
five minutes, and I traded neither of them well.
What worked. Waited for CRWD to hold above the opening range instead of
buying the gap. Entry was late by design and the position was small enough that
holding through the 10:10 pullback was comfortable rather than frightening.
What did not. I chased MU short after it had already broken, twenty minutes
into the move, and covered on the first bounce for a third of what the trade was
worth. Classic: right idea, late entry, small target because the entry was bad.
The one that cost nothing and taught the most. INTC dumped to 88.46 and I
was one click from selling into it. It closed the window at 91.27 on 46M shares.
Nothing happened, and that is the point β the setup I did not take is the same
setup I keep taking badly.
- Rule for tomorrow: if the entry is more than ten minutes late, halve the
size or skip it. Late entries are the reason my targets keep shrinking.
